Dressing up in archery and football costumes

Children in costume at the entrance to the
Fashion Museum
Dresses of History, the
historic gallery at the Fashion Museum, has fully re-opened following the installation of a
new lighting system.
As
part of the re-display, the Fashion Museum has been working with
Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust to develop replica Victorian
sporting dress for primary school age children to try on. The 12 replica costumes are based on
illustrations of boy's football uniforms and
a girl’s archery costume from the 1880s.
Comments from the visitor's book include: "We have lived in
Bath for 6 years and didn't realise that the Fashion Museum had so
much to offer children. They thoroughly enjoyed becoming little
archers for the morning".
